    American Airline

Never flown with AA. Are they any good. What is their seating plan.

Which route and class of travel are you looking at?

AA fly from both Manchester and Heathrow to several US destinations using different aircraft with a variety of seating plans.

If you find out the type of plane you're flying on - then [Web site address does not meet site rules] is a good site to view the configuration. I have flown with them on many occasions and found them to be very good. An obvious statement - do bear in mind that they are an American crew so they tend to have a more laid back approach, tend to have a different attitude and more likely to be quite mature.

We fly AA in and to/from the U.S. whenever possible. They are also introducing a new extra legroom section in economy which may be good value for people wanting a little extra room without the extra cost of a business seat.

We flew back with US Airways at the weekend, and the crew were, indeed, of a 'certain' age. They are not the glamorous Virgin bimbos, but do a good job - maybe because they are simply doing their job and not worrying about having a hair out of place, or tottering about on high heels, or hitching their tight skirts up even higher! [msnwink]

I have to admit the US crew looked as if they had just got up and hadn't had time to do their hair, and their 'uniform' (can it really be described as that???) leaves a lot to be desired, but to be honest, if they do their job propererly, and they did, then I have no problem with their age. Indeed, they made me feel positively glamorous, even after a sleepless night flight! []

Whilst being 'laid back' with their appearance, they were highly efficient and brought meals and drinks quickly, and constantly cleared away debris, which was a great improvement on the Virgin girls who always seem to dump the food and disappear so you sit for ages with all the 'trash' on your tray.

Our experience of AA in the past has been fine, so would not worry if the price is right!

Just looking at the moment but it was Inverness-LGW-Tampa in economy.

That won't be an AA flight but is probably them selling BA flights as a code share.

We have flown with Continental and Delta and they were brilliant. Their service throughout was good and we prefer them 100% to Virgin!

Hang on, I've just watched a Virgin Atlantic advert on TV, it says ALL their crew have special powers. Is this a misleading advert? Having never flown with Virgin Atlantic I assumed it was completely true.

We have flown with Delta, Continental, US Air & AA and found the service to be great but AA were the only ones without seat back entertainment. Don't know if thats still the case but that was the negative for us and we have not used them since.
