Dollar Rent A Car is back as an option

We're pleased to announce the immediate availability of Dollar Rent A Car as one of the suppliers we can offer to customers. They are back with much more competitive rates than before too.

They are available when running quotes on our sister site www.floridahirecar.com and when running quotes using a link a villa owner has given you.

All quotes are priced in US Dollars, but if you run a quote in Pounds or Euros, we display an approximate amount in that currency, based on the current exchange rate.

This might be a good time to lock in because the Pound seems to be finishing 2012 at its year high (close to $1.63).

Dollar is still coming out over almost £100 more than Alamo for our dates in April. Will stick with Alamo

I'm curious as to when it stopped being offered? We are here now and have a Dollar car booked in around late Summer through US car hire.

The credit card industry introduced new rules over how you handle credit cards on websites and our Dollar supplier did not have a compliant solution in place so we had to suspend them from the site. We now access Dollar using a compliant method not through this supplier (who are still working to get a compliant solution in place for us to access).

The good news is the new Dollar rates are much better than the old supplier was able to offer. They differ from Alamo in that they are fluid and change on a daily (or sometimes more often) basis, so it's worth checking back every so often if you really want to book Dollar. The booking locks you in at the price you book at.
