    All alone with hubby. part2

WednesdayWeather forecast for today is poor so we had planned shopping, and before anyone says anything it is for hubby not me!
First though David wanted to do some painting in the daylight so after brekkie out came the dust sheets and the paint.
Nowhere is too bad but it's the usual places that get the hammer. The hall way where people knock the wall with suitcases, shopping bags and golf clubs!
Underneath the breakfast bar, on the wall by one of the single beds where people open up their suitcases, in the closets, suitcases again, and in the breakfast area and dining room where people pull out the chairs.
Mostly just a touch up job but David rollered the hallway and under the breakfast bar whilst I washed down the paintwork, again not too bad as it was all done in July, mind you it beats me how people manage to drip tea/ coffee on the door above eye level! We must have had some very tall guests!!
David also built the new barstools which we had bought right back at the beginning of my trip.........seems like a long time ago now.
Ready to leave just before 1pm and the shopping was planned with military precision!
Walmart on 535, light bulbs and solar lights.
Downtown Disney for the Disney Store, Christmas antennae toppers and pens etc for Leah. No Christmas antennae toppers, redirected to Christmas store, still no luck but bought some others and tree decorations.
Golf shop on I Drive, new golf shoes. Next door, to Famous Factory Brand shoes, flip flops for hubby, his broke! Very comfortable pair of Dr Scholls purchased.
Premium Outlets, training top needed for my big guy at home. No luck in Reebok, Nike, Champion, or Addidas but got something suitable and large enough in Eddie Bauer.
Bose state of the art headphones for hubby, Christmas present from me!
Polo Ralph Lauren again, coat and shirt for eldest son, jumper and sneakers for youngest.
Mall at Millenia, Brookstone Store looking at gadgets, Apple Store, top of the range iPad for hubby, he's never had one before and the idea is he will have my iPad 2 and I will have the new one, he reckons I will get most use out of it as I usually need to be surgically removed from mine. I feel mean though, I am sure he will use it all the time once he has one although he is determined not to use it for business, the company pulled the plug on providing them all with one so he says he will not provide his own for company use and will manage with laptop and iPhone for business. If he doesn't use it as much as I think he will then we will swap, if not I will upgrade in April when I come.
Back to Brookstone Store for iPad cover and keyboard with Bluetooth. I declined one I am happy with touchscreen.
Finally Pandora shop for ME and a new charm for my bracelet.
Dinner at Cheesecake Factory and home by 8pm, unpacked shopping and put as much rubbish out as possible, last trash collection before we go home is tomorrow.
Spent the rest of the evening setting up the iPad!

    Thursday
Weather was poor yesterday with some heavy showers that we mostly dodged.
No sign of sun all day today.
After breakfast David quickly took the old barstools to bits and we managed to fit them into our bin and next doors before they came to collect the trash. He also sawed in half the silk fig tree that we no longer have a home for and managed to fit that in the bin!
Next the solar lights, we had a few that were no longer working and couldn't buy exactly the same ones so we got some mosaic ones which looked quite pretty. We spread out the lights that were working at the front and decided to alternate the mosaic lights with the existing lights around the pool cage.
OMG! They arent clear, they keep changing colour, if they all glow red at the same time people will think the villa is some kind of bordello!! Thank goodness it's Christmas, they can be our Christmas lights, it's too late to change them now but we can change the when we come in the spring.
After the trash collection David hosed and disinfected the bins, he even scraped the inside of the bins clean of stuff that was stuck on, ugh! He swears we now have the cleanest, sweetest smelling bins in Polk County......until next time that is!
I stayed indoors and ironed, including the new valance for the kitchen window to go with new pics. Once ironed it was duly hung in place.
When it became clear we were not going to see the sun today David decided to play golf, I dropped him at Providence, went to Publix to pick up some very nice steak for dinner and then went back to the villa.
I tried to sit outside under the lanai and answer some emails but it was just a little too cool to be really comfortable so went back indoors, what a contrast to last week!
The holdalls to take home are mostly packed so I started on packing up the owners cupboard with everything we weren't going to need over the next couple of days.
Went to pick up David when he called and then we both went for a swim, it was dusk by now and we were able to watch our Christmas light display!!
Dinner, a bottle of wine, Tv and bed.

    Friday
Overcast again this morning, suffice to say we haven't seen much of the yellow thing in the sky this week.
After breakfast we set about completing our pack up of the owners cupboard. Won't be cooking again, so away went cooking oil, spices, rice, pasta and dry foodstuffs that we keep as our store cupboard.
We always leave salt, pepper, tbags and coffee for guests but packed away our own personal favourite stuff.
We emptied the fridge of the part used stuff we weren't going to be using again, wiped down inside of fridge and put the remainder of the stuff back.
Apart from the clothes we will need today and tomorrow we packed away our Florida clothes into the drawers and covered the hanging stuff with the protective bags.
Whilst all this was going on I washed all the bath mats, plus the kitchen mats and door mats. Next load included the place settings and serviettes and the bathrobes which we will manage without today and tomorrow.
When pretty much everything we could pack was packed we went out on to the deck as finally the sun was trying to put in an appearance!
Lovely afternoon, some warm sunshine, David went to play golf about 2.30 and I stayed outside on the deck.
When there was no more sun I went indoors and ironed the place mats and napkins to put back on table then ironed some of the other bitsI had washed today, all the while catching up on Strictly so I will be up to date when I go home this weekend.
When David came home we went for a swim, I love being in the pool with the lights on when it's dark all around. Didn't want to get out as I knew it would probably be our last dip for this trip.
Dinner at Carrabas, David's absolute favourite restaurant, didn't disappoint.
Home to do online check in, checked TV listings and his team are on ESPN at 7.30 tomorrow, live soccer, I think I'll stay in bed!

    Saturday
As predicted DH up early to watch soccer!
I stayed on bed, too early, and didn't get up until they were winning by a safe margin!
Stripped bed and washed mattress cover first having done all the others at various points during this trip.
After the football had finished we breakfasted and then set about clearing away everything we possibly could from kitchen and fridge.
David went outside to clean the windows whilst I put the now dry mattress cover back on to bed Remainder of bedding of bedding was washed and put in to tumble dryer.
Owners cupboard is now virtually packed apart from toiletries and there is nothing more to be done except to enjoy the gloriously hot, sunny day that today has turned out to be! Final hours spent reading and dozing, on what turned put to be one of the best days of the week weatherwise
One final last look around, it so nice to leave everything looking good, with guests due in 2 days time and more guests over new year we hope they appreciate our efforts, then in January we have some lovely guests returning for the fourth time and it will be lovely for them to see lots of changes and upgrades.
Off to the airport, straightforward journey, no line at the rental car return and surprisingly no line at security either which meant time for one last meal at The Outback before an uneventful flight home.

Thanks for the reports Liz, I really enjoyed reading them. I always hated that last day, always felt envious of the next guest arriving as I never wanted to go home

Loved the reports, so sad they are finished. Have enjoyed reading them and it is nice to get an insight into villa owners chores required when visiting.

    Interesting notes Liz
That's got us in a nice mood for when we go out to work on our villa next month.
We mustn't full into the trap again, of enjoying ourselves so much and forgetting
what we were there to do, and then, rushing about on the last day trying to complete
all the jobs on the list !!
    Merry Christmas
