    Newbie at car renting

    Hi,

I'm in Orlando from January to 1st April. So I guess I need a car for that time. I'm from Berlin and here it's fantastic to do all your stuff with a bike. But I assume thats not so comfortable for Orlando, right? I'd like to rent the car for one month first. Just in case I dont need it the entire stay. Is it possible to give the car back early?

I checked some sites for renting but still would like to have some tipps of experienced people. What would you recommend for me? I'd like to pick up the car with no trouble at the airport when I arrive, all insurance should be included. I dont like any surprises later :-)

One very important quastion for me: is it possible to rent a car with a debit card? Iam 25+, I have surely enough money on it. But some sites still say it is not possible no matter how many k's are on that card.

If you hire a car, you cannot return it early (or at least, there is no refund for returning early).

I would suggest say renting a car for 4 weeks, then rent another one to start when the first one ends, if you decide that's what you want to do.

Our Alamo rates include all required insurances and multiple drivers.

You can pay with a debit card, and when you collect you can use a debit card for the security deposit provided you can show a return flight ticket. Note, if you have a debit card, you won't be able to use the kiosk to speed up your collection, so will need to go to the desk instead.

Thx Roger. Good news regarding the pre-paid creditcard.
My back flight is already booked as well, so I will have the ticket when I arrive in Orlando to show it the car rental service.

Then I think it is best like you said, renting the car for 4 weeks and then renting another car in case I need it.
Does the price change a lot when you hire longer? I could imagine that customers get a discount the longer they hire.

And last: Whe I like to hire is it possible to contact you again? I read a bit through the forums and it seems like it is possible to hier a car through you.

Me again. Seems like my last post hasnt passed the moderator.

I researched a bit. I think I was wrong caling my credit card a debit card. Actually it is a credit card that works as a prepaid card. So it is not possible to overdraw the account. Only the money that is on the card/account can be used. Is it possible to hire a car through Alamo with such a prepaid visa card? Theres definitely enough money on.

    Thx for your help.

I'm sorry, I overlooked your additional post. Provided your card has the Visa or Master Card symbol on it, then this is fine. A pre-paid card would be classed as a debit card.

Longer rentals don't particularly have a bigger discount, but one tip is to try to keep your rentals in blocks of whole weeks, so 7, 14 ,21 28 days etc as this can be cheaper than the cost of individual days.

If you have general pre-rental questions about your requirements, then feel free to email us at info@uscarhire.com where one of our staff will always be on hand to reply quickly.
