Ladies who lunch, shop and everything else. Part 6

    Day 5
All in all a lazy day.

After a busy day and late night, we planned very little activity today.[zzz]We breakfasted at Pipers Grille and followed this with a grocery shop at Publix where we picked up some steak and salad for dinner and some lovely fresh Cuban bread.
Back at the villa the pool deck beckoned and the four of us spent a lazy day dozing, reading, swimming and generally chilling out. We had a late lunch of fresh bread, cheese and fruit so when the sun finally went down none of us were really very hungry so we decided we would finally hit Walmart!
We decided on Walmart at Cagans Crossing so that we could go to Lowes as well ( we need 2 new pool panels) and with four of us all looking at different things we soon got separated, fortunately we had a pre arranged meeting in front of the opticians though as it was we came across each other long before we needed to use it!
We came without the shopping list so we forgot a few things but between us we managed to fill a trolley![clap]
Back at the villa the steak and salad was good especially when we made French fries as well!
We finished off with chocolates and Mama Mia on DVD, a lovely lazy day, especially as we have a full day at The Mall planned for tomorrow!

    Day 8
    More shopping and then some!!

After breakfast we headed off for a serious days shopping at The Florida Mall. We needed to go to Ross and Bed Bath and Beyond first of all so by the time we actually got into the mall we needed to stop for coffee. The salted mocha frappucino from Starbucks is soooooo yummy![msntongue]
Helen opened the spending at Nine West, we all indulged at Yankee Candle and the kids did well at the Disney Store. Bath and Bodyworks occupied us for some 45 mins and by the time we emerged lunch was definitely overdue. We opted for Bucca di Beppo which was a bit of a mistake really as our food was cold and we had to send it back, there was no problem but cooking fresh portions for all of us meant that we lingered longer over our meal than we had planned.[msneek]
We back tracked to Old Navy, Abercrombie and Fitch and Vans where Gezs eldest son and his parter both benefited from new trainers. Into Macy's for new bedding where we found just what we wanted on sale, we got a further 25% reduction when Helen was savvy enough to ask for an overseas visitor discount. We bought 2 twin comforter sets for less than the price of one! Bargain!!
By this time we had so many bags that Lesley and I sat outside whilst Helen and Gez went into Sephora, we swapped around whilst myself and Gez went In to the Apple store and despite it being busy we were in and out quickly as we both new exactly what we wanted. Lesley and Gez went off to get coffees Helen and I managed to do serious damage to the credit cards in the Sperry shop.[msnoo]
Fortified by our Starbucks we waged a final assault on Pandora for my DIL's Christmas present and for Lesley's daughters 21st. We both spent so much money we got a free gift!![msnwink]
Whilst Helen and Gez went into H&M, Zara and Forever21, Lesley and I walked round to Footlocker for some particular trainers that she wanted for her son but we were out of luck.
By the time we got back to the car we were like apes with our arms about 2feet longer from carrying all our bags.
We hadn't really planned what we were going to do for dinner but nobody felt much like going out, we had been at the mall over 7 hours and were all pretty pooped![msnoo]
Take away pizza was mentioned but no one seemed particularly enthusiastic about it so we decided on a cooked chicken, more salad and fresh bread. We finished with ice cream and another bottle of wine had bitten the dust as well!
Aching arms, tight calves and stiff backs we all headed for bed another day filled to the brim with activity.

Sounds like hard work all this shopping. My husband loves shopping when in florida but me i am not so keen, 1 day florida mall, 1 day designer outlet and 2 to 3 visits to walmart and i am shopped out. Rather be in or by the pool and always with the cuban bread, prefer mine hot from the oven, buttered, grated cheese, red onion diced, mayonnaise and crushed Lays crisps = Heaven on a plate (we will forget to think how many calories)

Don't know about anyone else but I am worn out just reading about it!!! We have done our share of shopping again on this visit but hats off to you ladies (that's a point - have any of you actually bought a hat yet? You seem to have bought everything else!!)

I bought a new suitcase today to take all my shopping home - tried to find one that did not scream USA so that we are not targeted at customs!!!!
