Day 3. Not much to report.
We awoke to glorious sunshine but boy was it chilly at 8am so on went the heat![msneek]We breakfasted in, once more and were seduced on to the deck afterwards by the clear blue sky and sunshine, it was soon obvious, however, that it wasn't yet warm enough to sit out, so after a quick conference we decided to venture down to Posner Park.
First stop was JC Penney for Sephora...........how did I manage to spend over $200???? I will have to tell DH it is my Christmas present![msnoo]
Nobody came out empty handed and by the time we were strolling up to the bookstore the sun was getting quite warm.
I couldn't find what I wanted, I was looking for a book and map of the Adirondaks for next years summer holiday but it looks like it will have to be good old Amazon instead! We bought coffee from jo muggs and sat outside, by which time the sun was really strong and burning through my shorts.
Back in the car and one final stop at Ross Dress For Less where we bought new pictures for the kitchen and it was back to the pool deck.
The pool heat had been fixed and the temp had climbed to 86, not warm enough for me unless I was going to get in and do serious swimming, for which I didn't have the energy, so I will wait until tomorrow.
Lunch was last nights leftovers and we stayed on the deck until the sun disappeared about 4.45. We decided to stay in at dinner time so a trip to the supermarket was called for.
The nail bar didn't look busy so Helen and I both called in for a "spur of the moment" manicure, unlike Gez and Lesley, neither of us had time before we came away, so the other two went off with the supermarket list and emerged with the groceries and lots of other goodies that werent on the list ( Lindor choccies....mmmm) just as we had finished.
I knocked together a chicken and mushroom risotto, which even though I say it myself, was pretty good and we finished with a mixed fruit streusel pie and ice cream mmmmmmm![msntongue]
A few glasses of wine, the chocs and a DVD and we were ready for bed.
PS Helen improving an insists on thanking you for your recommendations and thanks Sandra and Liesa for their good wishes.
Day 4.......and then we shopped!
No body emerged from their bedrooms until 8.30 today, I think we are finally starting to relax.
Mind you, I had downloaded the tunnel bear app onto my iPad last night and have been watching I'm a Celebrity since 7am..........sad I know![msnwink] I wish I had brought my apple tv with me so I can watch it on the big screen, although I don't think the others would be impressed! I think I might invest in another one to leave here and then we we can watch "strictly" and David, when he arrives, will be able to watch sport. I found it so much better than watching it via the computer with no buffering or pixelating.
We went down to Pipers Grille for breakfast and Florida received more brownie points from Lesley who was impressed not only by her breakfast but by the beautiful surroundings and cleanliness of everywhere........ I think we are starting to convert her![clap]
Back to the villa and with a high of 82 forecast for today it was out on to the deck, the pool is now gloriously warm and I took my first dip of the holiday.
I received a surprise Skype call from my grandaughter which was lovely, I really miss her as I see her or speak to her most days at home. I am going to miss her 6th birthday and her school nativity whilst I am here.[msncry]
It was a lovely, warm afternoon with sunshine and clouds, (omg I'm starting to sound like the weather channel!) and we lazed around with our books until about 3.30 before taking ourselves inside to shower and change before heading off to Bahama Breeze for a late lunch/ early dinner.
Everything was good as usual although I swear my Calypso shrimp longtime was far spicier than ever before. It would have been good to box our left overs but we werent going straight home, the evening was warm and left in the car food poisoning would have come calling!![sick]
Next stop Premium Outlets! Caroline once remarked that after a good shopping trip you should barely be able to close the boot and the back seats should be full! Let me tell you, we were close![msnoo]
I think I was the most restrained buying only, a new briefcase on wheels, clothes for my grandaughter, a pair of Oakleys for my sons Christmas present and half the contents of Vitamin World!
Gez wandered round with photographs of the items she had been detailed to buy from Polo Ralph Lauren by her son and DIL, bought wallets and gifty things from Wilsons leather, clothes for herself and shared the other half of the contents of Vitamin World with Helen.............they had to put up a closed sign when we left as they had no stock left!
Helen, as usual, spoiled her grandsons something rotten and spoiled herself rotten as well with a beautiful knitted dress/ tunic from Ralph Lauren, she debated about buying a handbag from Michael Kors, common sense won but I bet we will end up going back.[msnwink]
It was however Lesley who came into her own, handbags, clothes, underwear, two pairs of shoes! Boy when you take the handbrake off she can shop! ( more plus points for Florida.....surely now this wonderful destination should be going up in her estimation.)
From about 10.30 onwards we got the evil eye in most shops we went into as closing time was looming and four women laden down with mountains of shopping that knocked something over every time they moved were not popular customers so we decided to call it a day and head home.........but Caroline, you would have been proud of us!
The I4 was quiet and we were soon back at the villa unpacking our goodies before that final cup of tea and bed![zzz]
