BA ending Manchester-Gatwick service

BA have announced that they will axe their Manchester to Gatwick service in March 2013.

Not sure what effect that will have for OV members but for anybody from the North West wanting to connect to BA's Gatwick-Orlando/Tampa flights, it doesn't look to be good news. On the other hand, I don't think Virgin will be shedding any tears!

that's bad news, we are actually flying with them from Manchester, Gatwick, Tampa next Wednesday 7th, used them many times before, looks like we shall have to look for another Carrier down to London.

Virgin are starting a Manchester to Heathrow service so perhaps that might help give you more options

Is there another option to Gatwick? If there is, you probably start to run into the problems of different baggage allowances.

BA will continue their flights from Manchester to Heathrow but it's not lot of fun transferring to/from Gatwick especially when you have your bags with you. Not cheap either.
