    Flying into MCO with Virgin

Hi, only 32 more days before our trip This time we're flying with Virgin, haven't flown with them since 2000. I seem to remember that you have to collect your luggage and then put it back on another carousel? Is this still the same?

If you can manage your luggage, you can take it with you up the escalator, it will be much quicker.

    Enjoy your holiday.

So you don't have to put it on the 2nd carousel then?
    Thanks

Its optional, but if you can manage it up the escalator, much quicker.

No it is not mandatory to put it back on the 2nd carousel and we never do and take our cases with us on the escalator to save time.

We flew Virgin in December, I don't recall using a second carousel. Pick up luggage after immigration, go through customs with cases, take luggage onto the train and then to car hire. I do have a vague recollection of a second luggage journey years ago.

You pick up cases after Immigration then go through Customs clearance and it is after this the caes used to have to go back through to be picked up again after you have gone on the transit to the main terminal. They changed it a couple of years ago (probably because so many more people have cases with wheels) so you can take it with you onto the transit now. Saves a lot of time as we always found that after the second collection, even being put on together , somehow one of our cases would end up taking up to 20 mins longer than the other to appear on the carousel.

As others have already explained the second carousel that you remember using before is optional. As you walk down the corridor the carousels are in front and the escalator is to the right. This escalator takes you up to the train platform so if you can take your cases with you it will save you a lot of time.

We flew Virgin in Feb this year and because my husband takes his golf clubs we always put our luggage through on the carousel. The luggage comes through onto a carousel opposite the car hire desks but we did have to wait a long time before it appeared. In fact we left my sister waiting for luggage whilst we went over to Dollar Express in garage to sort out our car.
