does anyone know of web sites where you can see what seats are left on flights, people tell me can do this but when i ask for a web site they can never remember!!!!! if its possible then someone on this forum will know im sure!!

Some airlines will show you the seats available in the section of aircraft for which you have already purchased tickets. American is an example of this. However none that I know of will show what is available until you have committed to buy.
If they did show lots of seats available then you would have no incentive to buy and would wait for a price drop. This not the behaviour they want to encourage so I think you will be out of luck.

American will show you available seats before you buy but not many others do that.

Delta, US Airways, United, American all show seat availability on their websites prior to booking. To my knowledge only Virgin and the charters don't.
