Best type of vehicle?

Hi, we're travelling to Florida in December, and there is going to be 4 fairly tall adults, and one four year old with a booster seat, only myself and my husband will be driving (mil and fil don't want to drive in the us) so we're going to need a fairly big car aren't we? I was thinking about a big suv, is the luggage compartment on these quite huge? I don't really want a minivan type vehicle, much prefer my 4x4's ;-)
im a little cross the I laws won't drive as I have always wanted to drive a mustang! Lol!

We opt for a Intermediate SUV and there is plenty of room for 4 adults and a 4 year old and there is plenty of room in the back for 5 case's.

We have had a KIA Sportage,Chevy Equinox,Ford Escape which i would highly recommend all of these.
