    Alamo at Port Canaveral

Does anyone know if the Alamo depot at Cape Canaveral offers a shuttle bus to the cruise port? likewise for the return trip to Orando, do any of the car hire companies collect from the cruise port?

We used Dollar in February - it was the only option available from uscarhire at the time - we booked the Melbourne/Port Canaveral drop off. It is very easy to find, and the service was excellent - there is a regular shuttle to and from the port - on our return we simply walked our luggage outside the terminal, turned left to the shuttle bus area and it was there in about 5-10 mins.

We have also used Alamo in the past, and again, there was a regular shuttle - drops off at the port, and then pick up just outside the terminal.

Apologies - have just seen another thread in which Roger says that Dollar is no longer being offered, but the same comments apply to Alamo. The depot is in the same road as Dollar, so still very easy to find, and there is a regular shuttle.

As Ellie says, Alamo offer a free shuttle between the depot and the port, which is quick and easy to use.

We used the Alamo shuttle last year and it worked very well.

WE picked up a car from Alamo on our return to get us backto Orlando from Port Canaveral. Remember that you would need to book this from about 11 a.m.

All booked with www.uscarhire.com who were very helpful.

Hi, we are on a Disney cruise in July and I have researched the car hire options re drop off parking etc. It is well supported by all the major car hire companies with shuttle services to/from the ships, so you should be ok.

    Enjoy your cruise.

We are going on a RCCL 13 night cruise from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale 22 November 2012, and need to pick up a rental car from Fort Lauderdale 05 December and then drop of at Orlando MCO 06 February 2013. What rental companies are at Fort Lauderdale either at the port terminal or Fort Lauderdale International Airport.

There are no car hire companies actually at Fort Lauderdale port terminal (Port Everglades). They are mostly located at a special car hire facility at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, or just outside the port. You can get either a shuttle bus or a taxi from the port to the airport. These run on a regular basis and your luggage porter will guide you to where they pick you up.

We have used Dollar and Alamo for Port Everglades. Dollar has a downtown location near the port, and run a shuttle from the port. Alamo has a shuttle to the airport.

Glad to hear that, we are doing the same.
Does anyone know if there are storage lockers of some sort,at the port, as we wouldn't need to be bringing all of our luggage on our 4 day cruise. It will be near the end of our hols and we will have gathered quite a bit of shopping by then,( if my wife has her way)
