Car Hire for Longer than 56 days

We are going in October for 58 days. When trying to book the car hire it says it has to be don in seperate bookings of no more than 56 days. Does this mean that we will have to return the car and collect a differant one?

Strictly speaking you do have to swap the car on the voucher end/start date. Sometimes (depending on the person on the desk) they will accept both vouchers on collection and alow you to return at the end of the second voucher.

When you make the 2 bookings, the most cost effective way is probably to make the change/over date on a multiple of 7 days in to the first booking (so 56, 49, 42, 35 days etc). Also assuming you do have to physically swap the car, you may as well make the drop off location for the first part (and the collection location for the second part) at a local depot to you.

The times I have done it they have just gone through the paperwork, filled it up with petrol and I have driven out in the same car.

I chose a nearer depot to do the changeover.

Thanks for that, our nearest depot is The Holiday Inn on the 192, but have been there before and they usually have a choice of one and are not particularly helpful. Think the best place for the exchange will be at Disney, they were extremely helpful when our friends had a puncture.

Yes, the depot outside the Magic Kingdom is a good one for choice compared to other local depots. The one on International Drive is quite good too. Personally I've collected a few cars from the 192 depot in Kissimmee (usually with friends and family staying with us that are collecting a car) and agree not quite so much choice, but have always found the staff there to be really good.

I have to say we found the one on the 192 to be spectacularly unhelpful and they made us drive to MCO so we could get the car changed over when there was a problem.
