I would have thought Vegas has a tourist information where you can find all the convention dates. We flew from Orlando to Vegas a couple of years ago and then back to Orlando, flew from Orlando International with United but we booked it as a "package" flight from the Uk and it worked out well. Booked a day trip to the Canyon before we went through Viators and did the sky bridge, well worth it.
We stayed at the Luxor and although good if I went again would stay at a more central location on the strip say the Wynn or Ceasars Palace saves on the feet. Look for some bargains as I am sure you will find some. Well worth the trip.

We flew Manchester to Vegas, enjoyed our time there at theSignature at the MGM - the only NON smoking hotel- we had a fabulous room- more like a suite- with everything you could want in it! Luxurious to say the least.
then flew onto Orlando with United, and then Orlando to Manchester via Washington going home. United / BMI that would have been about 3 or 4 years ago.
