backpack

I know this may sound silly, but I've never been to Disney so I know NOTHING.

What do you do with your backpack while you ride the rides? Do you all recommend taking one? Can you take water and snacks into the park with you in a backpack? And any other advice would be appreciated as well.

I have taken soft drink and small snacks in a small daysack to most parks in the past without problems. (I understand Silver Springs do not allow it) I don't know if the new security regs have changed this situation. But I always gave it to someone in the party remaining on the ground for the rides. I doubt if they will allow backpacks on rides because of the safety concerns. If you don't have a groundie in your group, perhaps one of the staff might agree to look after the sack for you during the ride? They are probably not supposed to, but it does not hurt to ask

. Otherwise, you may have to stow the sack in a locker and go back periodically.

You can take drinks into the parks, but plastic bottles not glass. We always took a backpack full
of drinks for the kids. I dont think they let food in, all bags are searched as you enter the parks

As for the rides, its only my kids and me that go on the rides so left them with the wife or my
mum

We've taken snacks and drinks in backpacks to the parks. We have either taken them with us on the slow rides or left them with a member of the party who is left on the ground, mostly me.

There are lots of water fountains around the parks for refilling your water bottles so you don't have to carry many bottles of water.

In the past we have just hired a locker. Saves on lugging the bags round. Unless there are children in the party we don't usually take anything apart from a bottle of water each.

We, too, have used the larger lockers, near the entrance to the parks, to save carrying our rucksacks around. Most of the rides that don't allow 'carry-on' stuff have smaller lockers located close by to stow away your belongings safely.

The first day we took a back pack in with some stuff. And three plastic bottles of iced water. After that day we didn't take anything else into the parks because it was uncomfortable to carry around and nobody wanted to carry anything. So for now on it's waist packs for us.

We've always managed to take a small back pack on the rides with us, usually wedged between your feet, although lots of them have net bags for you to stow things in. The rides that don't allow you to take any bags on (like Men in Black) have lockers at the entrance.

busch gardens do not allow you to take food into the park, when we were there last year a family in front had their bag checked and when the food was discovered they were told to take it back to their car.[ I bet there was a slight aroma on the drive home]
