One last question! If I choose the silver option when do we get charged for the petrol, when we bring the car back at the end of the rental? If so and we bring it back full, I assume there is no charge.......

Once you have your voucher you can sign up for Alamo Express. It's a very simple online procedure and must be done once for each rental (rather than a membership type system).

Please can someone tell me how to get Alamo Express? I've already got a Dollar express card but find Alamo are often cheaper we still book Dollar though because hubby hates to queue.

With Dollar, you must take the car back empty on the Silver option and they will charge you (a lot) for the tank of fuel.

With Alamo and National, if you are collecting after 1st Apri 2012 then you take the car back full and you will not be charged.

Gold option includes the tank of fuel, so take back empty.

Both options have a full tank of fuel on collection.

My friends are out there at the moment, they could not use the expess desk unless they they had booked the full size or above.

We always choose the gold option and take the car back empty often thought about the silver but when taking the car back full how near to the airport do you need to fill up and if it needs to be really close where do people use?
