Thursday 5th - Today the "Florida Freeze" to qoute the weather man was on it's way out as the temps were in the high 60's. After the fun of the previous days the Teen's were eager to spend some of the Christmas money so we headed to the Outlets for some shopping. There were some great sale prices in the stores and the gang were soon stocking up on new skate shoes, hoodies and T's as well as shorts and jeans. I am definatly going to need a new suitcase before we go home! I also succumbed to a new pair of Ugg boots and a couple of tops ( Lee says I can spend some of my tax refund) Fully loaded and shopped out we headed home for a DVD and some pizza. The pool was also nice a warm so had a swim and relax in the spa to ease my aching feet
Friday 6th - Today we were having a lazy day at home relaxing by the pool. But first I took Connor and girlfriend to Seaworld. For them today was all about KT and the Dolphins! Over to Connor :-
As mum said today was all about dolphins. KT is a big dolphin fan and up untill Epcot had never seen a live one. Mum dropped us nice and early and we headed straight to the dolphin area where we paid the extra to do the dolphin feeding. As this was not until 11.30 I said we should go on a ride and come back but KT was just too excited so we did not get far before we had to head back - so we waited from 11am. We were first in line and had a fantastic time. KT got to stroke a dolphin - I thought she was gonna burst!
The park was really quiet so we were able to go on rides and get into the shamu show easy. But it was all about the dolphins so we made sure we were front and centre for the dolphin show. It was fab as always - the combo of the dolphins, birds and acrobats was awesome! We got wet but it was sunny so soon dried out. Then back to the dolphin nursery where we got some great shots of the babies. I even managed to get one to pose with his tail up by giving the right signal - amazing! All too soon the park was closing and I called mum to pick us up.
We had a lovely time by the pool. Pool was very warm so had a great time swimming and sunning! After collecting Connor and KT we headed to D and B's for some dinner and then home.
Saturday 7th - The Skateboard team of Element were in Orlando today as part of the "Make it Happen" tour. Connor and Sam both desperatly wanted to go along so despite the fab weather we agreed to drive them up to Midtown Skatepark in North Orlando for the afternoon. The skatepark was packed with boys and young men all waiting to try their luck and audition for Element. The auditon was a skills compertition open to allcomers. My boys are good skaters but these guys really were awesome. Connor and Sam just watched, met some of the Element team and got their boards signed and photos. While they indulged Lee and I went over to a nearby Mall ( Orlando Fashion Square I think) and had some lunch before collecting the boys and heading back home for a swim and JD[cheers]
Sunday 8th - The weather was fab today - high 70's - so headed back over to Cocoa beach again. Once more the boys had a surf board as the waves were great. Us oldies stuck with a body board. I love body boarding so had a great time in the waves. Lunch was again on the pier with a pina colada and then more sunning on the beach. Great time had by all. Stopped for Boston Market on the way home and then had a relax in the pool and spa before bed. Busy day tomorrow.
Monday 9th - Up and at them today and over to Universal to see Harry Potter. Usually at this time of year the parks have been pretty empty but it would seem the Harry has not lost it's appeal and the park was busy. So we upgraded to a fast pass but unfortunately this did not include Hogwarts so still had to queue. As the line was over 2 hours we opted to do the rest of the park and leave Harry till last. When we finally got back there at 6pm the line was down to 45minutes so opted to stay this time. The whole area is amazing and the boys tell me that the ride was fantastic although I was right to opt out as to quote my husband " that was amazing - you would have been sick all over it!" Who says romance is dead? By now the full moon was out and hovering over Hogwarts so time to go home - my feet were killing me so straight into the spa when we got back.
Tuesday10th - Another sunny day and the boys wanted to go back to OWC. So packed up the wakeboards and off we went. They had a great day on the lake - Gosh Sam taking on the ramps on his Kneeboard was mental! He even stood on it and cruised round the lake - I don't know where he gets it from to be sure! Hubby and I were on duty as the media crew taking photos and film. They also got talking to some lads from upstate New York who were there making a film for their local board shop and college course. My boys are now on the film - coooool!
Wednesday 11th - today was the only rainy day we had so we opted to take Connor and KT to Hollywood Studios while we packed up the bags. Not much else to report apart from The Teens had a great time at the park and yes we had to by another case along with another wakeboard bag to carry the sports kit home.
Our last day - the sun was out and as we were all packed ( apart from some last few bits) we let the boys have a final day on the lake at OWC. Lee had also just bought a new GoPro Hero camara so we attached it to the boys helmet and got some awesome video shots as they boarded the lake. I also got a last swim. I had rented the house until Friday as we had a late flight and did not want to have to rush out the house so it was all very relaxed as we headed to the airport and the flight home. All un eventful apart from one pocket of turbulance that made the plane "drop" a tad. Poor airstewardess had hot coffee spill on her leg and burn it as the drop was sudden. Lucky we all had our belts on!
Now home all safe and sound and already planning our next trip. Thanks for reading [msnwink]
