No fireworks in Celebration this year?

Horror of horrors - someone has told me that they have just driven past Celebration and it says that there is no firework display this year...is that true? I've just been on their website and although it doesn't say there isn't it definitely doesn't say there is! I tried to call the info centre but there was no reply.

Actually, I've just had my own question answered and it is true- THERE ARE NO FIREWORKS IN CELEBRATION THIS CHRISTMAS!!!!!! So my next question is where to go instead, avoiding the parks? All the family are over this year including my wheelchair bound mum so Celebration would have been ideal.

Kissimee Lakefront has the largest display in the area and its free.

Definitely no display this year. We drove through Celebration last night on our way to Charley's and there are signs up saying No Fireworks on New Years Eve. No explanation given.

Apparently, they do not hold them every year and this year they had the expense etc of their own Foundation Celebration as well as Thanksgiving so they are giving them a miss just as they did in 2009. There are fireworks at Downtown Disney.
