Tonemapped photos from Florida - August 2011

I've been having a play with Tonemapping (more information) on some of the photos from our trip to Florida from the summer and really like some of the effects you can get.

I've included a few of the better ones here, but am having great fun experimenting with the pictures from the trip. Has anyone else tried anything similar as I'd love to see them.

Wow these look amazing, do you need a special camera or is it a programme you can buy.

You can do it with most cameras I would have thought, but the better the camera the more dramatic the effects you can get. I use a plug in for Aperture on my Mac to process the images and adjust the effect for optimum effect. It does a whole host of other things which are really fun to try too.

Those look great . I must have a go. More than likely I will pass the info to my niece who has a very good camera and see if she can get some good results.

Thanks . I've since cropped out the people on that one and like the picture even more as it adds to the atmosphere (see below).
