    330 airbus from manchester

We flew out yesterday on VSO75 from Manchester. It is usually a 747 and I was worried as I was not used to the new 330 Airbus seat configuration. We went with the 30GBP upgrade . A modest price for a seat which was 3 additional inches both in leg room and width. I enjoyed the flight which was longer than usual due to winds over the Atlantic It was only just under 10hours but the new gadgets and comfort kept me a happy passenger. The food was not worth talking about but did not prevent me from enjoyinhg my first flight on this new addition out of Manchester.

Thanks for the info, we are flying on the 330 airbus next March and was wondering about the seat upgrades. Sounds like we may do the same.

We came back on the Airbus on Friday evening. Was quite impressed with leg room in the normal seats and with entertainment system. Totally unimpressed with the food - disgusting! Luckily I had a small bag of crisps in my bag or I would have starved.

We booked our tickets and reserved our seats last February only to have them changed when we did online check-in on Thursday. They moved us from 33H&K to 40H and 60K! Got them changed at the airport to two seats together but was in the middle and not the side seats we had booked. Why do they do this? It had nothing to do with sitting families together as the couple that were in our original seats were travelling just as a couple. So annoyed!!!!!

US Airways have been flying th A330-300 for quite a while now out of Manchester. Far better than the tatty 747's Virgin fly from there.

Its about time Virgin upped their game & stopped taking passengers for granted, out of Manchester.

We have also flown on 330 Airbus out of Manchester. We paid £30 each for the upgrade worth every penny. The menu you received with your first drink I didn't understand the point.
I decided on the chicken yet when the time came to serve the meal unfortunately the chicken choice had all gone . I was stuck with sausage and mash which was just about edible.

I think I can honestly say it was the worse meal I have ever tried to eat on any plane. In fact I didn't eat it, I had a large bar of Bournville in my bag ate that instead!!!
Thumbs up for the plane, thumbs down for the food[:O]

The new airbuses out of Manchester are a vast improvement. There are a lot more PE seats too

I flew back to the UK last month PE on one of the old tatty ones and came back to Orlando on the new airbus PE and gee what an improvement! Food still not great though but like Barbara I had my snacks!!!!

(Even managed to get my strong Cheddar Barbara)!

Food wise we usually get a meal deal from Boots at the airport, at least its eddible, but I go like the bags of fresh apples and grapes, so they still bring them round?

I think this applies to all airports. Virgin don't seem to have realised they are lagging way behind in every area, it would seem, in flights across the pond

Does no one feel the airbus is 'flimsier' than the Jumbo- can't beat First class on the Jumbo- the PE was uncomfy on the Airbus imo
