    Flight connection Philadelphia -Tampa

Can anyone give me info on flight from LHR to PHL and connect with flight to Tampa.
As I`v only ever travelled direct to US destinations I need to know the procedure for imigration and baggage when making connecting flight.
Both legs are with US Airways.

Although I have no experience with US airways or PHL. I have always connected flights when travelling to the US. I would leave a minimum of 2 hours when connecting internationally just to be on the safe side.

I normally connect in Newark, although done Houston once, and it can be done in an 1hour 15min, but that is really pushing it. and Newark immigration is very good. I have just come back from a trip via Chicago O'Hare. will not be doing that in a hurry again. Immigration was very long, and security was even longer, and I had a 3 hour 20mins layover. Just had time to sit down and take a breathe.

    Hi,
You reclaim your luggage & pass through customs & immigration when you land at PHL (Welcome to USA !!!)
You then re-check your luggage, pass through 'security' & board your filght.
At TPA, you will arrive as a 'local' - no immigration or customs ....

Arrived in Florida on Monday with US Airways connecting through Charlotte, North Carolina.

First time with US Airways and can't fault them but there is nothing special about them.

As others have said you arrive at Tampa 'done and dusted', follow the instructions about collecting your bags and then across the road to the car rental offices. Tampa is a particularly pleasant airport.

One small thing to remember if you buy any duty free at Heathrow or anything liquid over the liquids limit to remembe to put it in your case when you arrive in the States before checking your bags back in for the final destination or you will lose it.
