    Unhappy postcards!

    Hi guys

When we arrive in Florida we will be sending postcards back to family and friends in the UK.

    Can anyone please tell me:

1 - the best place to buy postcards

2 - the nearest post office to sandy ridge (I am assuming its best to post them from a post office?)

3 - What postage stamp to put on them

4 - Will we get back to the UK before the postcards do!

    Thanks very much

    Nadim

There are many places to buy postcards, Walmart etc, has a good selection.
If you are staying in a Villa ith a mail box you should be able to put them in there and put the red flag up and they will be collected.
I'm not sure of the current postage though.
Mail generally takes about 5 days so if you post them at the beginning then they should arrive back before you.
Another tip, if I am going away and intend sending postcards, as I make my own Christmas cards and have the computer set up to print the mailing labels form my address book, I just select the ones I want to send postcards and print labels to take so dont have to take whole address book.

    Hi Nadim

You will find a UPS store in the small shopping mall nearest you (Championsgate I think). They can supply stamps and mail them for you. They may take about a week to reach the UK.

You can buy stamps from a machine in Guest Services at Magic Kingdom and post them there. You will only be able to buy a set amount and will pay a little extra - sorry can not remember how much they were.

The postage on a postcard from US to UK is 98c.
As others have said, Walmart, Publix or the theme parks all sell cards...
Cards will (sometimes) arrive back before you, but no bets !!!
If you post cards in Magic Kingdom (Disney), or Hogsmead (Universal) they will arrive in the UK with a unique postmark !!!

When our kids were little they loved leaving the postcards in the mailbox at the end of the driveway, they used to fight over who would put the flag up!!

    Ah happy days.....the eldest is 30 now!![msneek]

If the complex is for short term rentals do the postal vans still go there ..... we left some postcards in the box for collection last time we went (with the flag up) and they were in the box for nearly a week, we ended up posting them at one of the parks and they arrived a week after we got back !!

That's strange Wendy, we always leave our postcard in the mailbox - they seem to collect most days, they certainly leave enough junk in there!!
You'll have to try again next October!
