Never have done a trip report but maybe I should give it a go before it becomes too much of a distant memory! The time is just flying by though and don't seem to have enough hours in the day

I got a lot of good advice before my recent road trip to California and Las Vegas, people appeared quiet interested as the topic got a lot of hits (I used off topic). I know it is a Florida site but because of the interest before I went I was wondering about doing a trip report and which section to put it in (off topic again or trip reports). If the mods think it would be appropriate let me know.

I'd be more than interested to read your trip report (love California as well as Florida) and would be happy for you to post it in the Trip Reports section, even though it's not specifically related to Florida.

I also love California and Las Vegas. In fact we considered buying in Santa Barbara, but property prices compared to Florida were extremely high . Florida offered better value for money. at the time
I love all trip reports,we will be in Fort Lauderdale for New Year and early January. I will definitely post a trip report.

I must force myself to post a trip report, but we too don't do a lot, unless you count painting and decorating and I doubt anyone would want to read all about that!!

Only three days until we decamp to our Florida home for just over six weeks. Anyone else out there get in touch and we may be able to meet up.

Andrea many homeowners spend a huge part of their holiday painting and decorating, part and parcel of owning property. I enjoy reading trip reports from other homeowner even though it may be mostly about what they bought in Home Depot and Lowes and which rooms they have refurbished.[msnsmile2]

Me too. I think that kind of trip report is fine as long as it's a good read. Also, I'm sure guests would really like to read about the amount of time, trouble, effort and thought we all put into our homes when we are in Florida and supposed to be having holiday .

I wrote a very long trip report a few years back which was about decorating, refurbishing, plus the damage some mid eastern guests had done amounting to $8000. It was removed as unsuitable although I had several e-mails from owners - who had managed to read it before it's removal - saying it should not have been removed as 'upstairs' need to know what we owners occasionally (just the once thank goodness) have to contend with. It took me ages to write, and I think I have only bothered once more to write a report - if that - as I had spent so much time on the first one to have it unceremoniously removed (by Blottie) with no explanation until I asked for one has put me off.
