Next day was Universal Studios-as much as I like Disney I love Universal and Islands of Adventure--anyway the adventure continued I went on all the usual rides--Jaws-Men In Black-The Simpsons-love the Simpsons!!
Went on The Mummy for only the second time -this time I kept my eyes open and enjoyed it more!
Watched Beetlejuice's Graveyard Review which I always enjoy although the others were less enamoured--took the kids to Woody Woodpecker where they got soaked and had a great time then a had a bit of a stroll on Citywalk then had a caffeine fix and went home.--Fabulous.
The next day was a pool and Mall day--prices were ok to me I still think you pay in dollars what we pay in pounds so i can live with that-the only things that seemed really expensive to me were Trainers-phenomenal cost so didn't bother.
Was really surprised by how few people were in Florida Mall and then when we went to the Loop you could have knocked me down with a feather-about 1 shop in 3 seemed open-the best in my opinion was the Premium Outlets-that was still bust and buzzing.
We did a bit of "cheap" eating this time-Denny's, MacDonalds, KFC etc and it really did affect our holiday costs-having said that I don't believe in being hungry so we also did our fair share of dining out and loved all of them-still not Gordon Blue but Outback, Chili's ,Olive Garden, all offered good value and decent food--If you go in Outback try the "Bloomin' Onion"--fantastic.
Sunday was the big one-not Blackpool- but Harry! I've never read the books but OH and others are big fans-we got to IoA at opening and marched straight to the HP ride-40 minute wait so we joined the queue-the theming is excellent and although I enjoyed the ride I couldn't face the 90 minute queue that had developed when we came off- we went in The 3 Broomsticks and had a sit down and a Butterbeer-really nice-like Cream Soda! Then we hit the Harry Potter shops--I really hope JK Rowling signed up for a profit percentage rather than a fee-things were flying out of these shops faster than a dementor into Hogwarts! The shops are small and therefore crowded but excellent theming once again-outside the little shows that go on are very good and i love the "cast members" staying in character -really impressed.
It was now afternoon so we went to Superhero Island and did new improved Spiderman-it was definitely sharper and the others did Hulk and a few other rides in Dr Seuss then we had our mandatory caffeine fix at Starbucks and went back to the pool-What a life!
