    Question Sun in November?

We have been many times to Florida but never before in November. This may seem a silly question but does the sun stay fairly low in November as it does in the UK (when we have any in the UK in November)? It would be useful to know as it will determine the pool aspect we will look for in renting a villa. If we rent a two storey home, say, with a north facing lanai, are we likely to get much sun on it? Would we be better with a south or west facing lanai to maximize the sun in the afternoon? Also, what time does the sun rise and set in early November?

    Many thanks

The sun is obviously lower in November but in early November it can still pack a punch - we were getting temperatures in the 80s last year.

The amount of sun you will get will depend on more than the direction. If you are in a single storey villa that has an extended pool deck then you will get sunshine until late even if it faces north. If you have a south facing pool deck but have a two storey house immediately behind it then you will be in the shadow early. Have a good look at the outlook and if you have any doubts then ask the owners directly about when the sun leaves the pool deck in the evenings. On balance if evening sun rather than morning sun is important then south or west facing may suit you best but it really depends on what else is there.

Even if the days are really warm it can get cool in the evenings, especially on the nights when there is a clear sky so we always take a fleece. We need it for the trips to and from the airport at this end anyway.

    Enjoy choosing

We go in November every year and it my favourite time of the year. The sun is lower of course but it averages mid 70's and can get as high as the 80's. The humidity is low so we find it very pleasant. The parks are usually quiet as well so all in all a geat time to visit.

We also go in November every year, and even though the sun is lower, and it is getting darker earlier in the evening, I think the dry air is lovely.
The humidity you feel in the summer are fading, but you still have the lovely hot and sunny weather.

Many thanks for the feedback so far. Actually Lynne, we are looking to rent a villa in Cape Coral backing onto a canal so properties immediately behind shouldn't be a problem. The fact the humidity is low is a definite bonus.

Make sure the pool and sundeck are southfacing. It is the only way you can be sure of sitting in the sun during the day in November. The villas across the road from us have north facing pools (but wonderful golf course views) and their guests resort to bringing the sun loungers round into the front garden !!!!! Not as important in the summer months but vital from November to March.

It is my favorite time to visit, the days can be really warm, but as said it can get chilly once the sun goes down.

We went in November last year for the first time .We loved the weather did get darker earlier but that was a small price to pay for the bright sunshine and no humidity.

We have booked to go again this november. [msnsmile2] .

We find that as we have a single storey home and that there are no 2-storey homes around us, we get the sun for most of the day on our deck and as it can still be pretty warm, we are glad that our home actually faces north. It has never caused us any problems whatsoever.

We always go in November, love it. The weather for us is just perfect, very little rain, very low humidity but warm to hot sunshine during the day. We have sat out till really late most nights.
