    Standard SUV Big Enough?

We have booked a standard size SUV and are now a little worried that it will not be big enough for us.
There will be 4 adults and a toddler, 4 medium sized suitcases and a buggy.
Will this be big enough for us and we're worrying over nothing, or would we be better upscaling to a full size SUV?

My opinion is absolutely not unless you have one suitcase between all of you. There's never any boot space worth talking about. You need full size at least. The size you need is whatever the Expedition is, and even at that you can struggle unless you get an Expedition or a Tahoe. In the past we have booked Expedition size on lots of occasions (6 of us). Quite often we were offered instead an equivalent size alternative which never held more than 2 cases (and even two was a struggle). We never took them, after trying to fit in. Always had to upgrade further or swap to a people carrier.

We go for a Suburban now and it works fine.

Never had any problems with a mid-size SUV - and that's for 3 or 4 adults PLUS 3 cases and hand luggage. Had a Jeep Patriot, Ford Edge and of course the good old Pacifica - they've stopped making them unfortunately! Might be a tight squeeze with a toddler as you'll need to have a booster seat as well.

Currently here and renting a standard SUV - Ford Edge. We're 4 adults with 4 cases and each of us has a large piece of hand luggage and its been fine. We would have room for an umbrella type buggy, another type would be tight. A small booster seat would be ok but if you have a large one it might be tight in the back.

Thanks for the replies. Hope you are enjoying your holiday Denise. TBH - like most people, we only need the space for the airport jouneys, the rest should be fine. Would be interested to hear what standard SUV Tonish got so we don't pick that one with such a small boot.
