    car hire advice

    Hi

we have a booked a full size car from this website for 2 adults and 2 young children

Now thinking of changing to a standard suv for a change as we drive cars in the Uk

Any opinions on what would suit the kids best etc, the suv does cost £200 more than the car option

    thanks

In my opinion you will have plenty of room in the full size car - they are much bigger in the US then here in the UK. I would keep the extra £200 for spending at the Malls!!!

There will be plent of room in the full size car, keep your money. Had it had been 4 adults I may have advised differently but even then it really depends on how much time you expect to be spending in the car.

    Hello

Thanks for your opinions. You are right, better to save the £200 and use it for other things instead. The longest trip we will do is clearwater, which really is not that far. thanks

We had a full size two years ago and had plenty of space (2 adults, 2 teens). I think it was an Impala.
Now if you want to drive something different from what you're used to, it's your choice.
We booked a standard SUV last year in Az and it was great (ended up with a Dodge Journey), but we were spending a lot of time driving and did some desert trails, so a SUV made sense. The kids loved the space and how they could arrange their stuff in there. Then we also rented a premium car in Kansas and picked a very nice Buick, very large and comfortable, loved it, and very little price difference at the time.
In Florida doing just the parks and a couple of days at the beach I'd probably save the money and go for the full-size (well, ok, maybe Premium []).
If you've booked with Alamo you'll be able to pick your own car and might find something that's different enough to please you.

We hired a full size a few year ago with 3 small teens and it was fine as we were staying on I drive and just doing the Universal parks and Seaworld.
The car we chose was a Pontiac Grand Prix, plenty room for the luggage too.

IF you want a SUV a mid size would suffice. We currently have a ford escape. Just 3 of us at the moment but will fit 5 of us in when my sister arrives. That's 5 adults as my teenage son is the tallest of all of us.
