    manchester airport parking

    Hi

Hi, we need to book car parking at manchester airport for 30 days

will have two young kids so dont fancy a long bus ride

flying with virgin which i think is t2

    narrowed it down to
    jet parks at £49
    manchester airport shuttle at £60
Manchester airport long stay t2 at £73

I think with all these you have to get on a bus?

does anyone have any experience of these car parks? thanks

Are those weekly rates because for 30 days those prices look exceptionally cheap but for 1 week perhaps a bit more than you should be paying.

My preference would be T2 Long Stay if you can get that price but IMHO there isn't a huge difference between any of them and you'll have to get a bus with them all.

Nadim, most of the car parks round here don't involve more than 5 minutes on a bus, I'll take a look as I drive around and make note of the closest ones and let you know.

We often use the 'meet and greet' service at Manchester. You drop your car off at departures where you are met by one of the company drivers and they meet you outside arrivals when you get back. It has always worked well for us - and no bus rides!!! There were too many times previously when we have waited a very long time for a car park bus to turn up - not what you want after a long flight.

We are also big fans of the meet and greet parking. Nadim - it is literally across the road from the terminal, maybe a 30 second walk?

From memory I think we paid about £65 (ish) this year for two and a half weeks of parking.

Hi Nadim, we have only flown from Manchester once which was three years ago. Not knowing our way around we decided to go for the meet and greet, as Steve said it is literally across the road from the terminal, well worth the couple of pounds extra for the ease of everything! And I mean really just a couple of pounds! Definitely would use it again if I go this route! Have a fantastic holiday!

Nadim, I popped into the parking company at the end of my road - First Response Parking. Obviously I have no experience of parking there, but I can assure you it would be 5 or 6 minutes on a bus to any terminal. They wouldn't give me prices but assured me they are the cheapest within the immediate area.

Having looked at the Jet Parks and Manchester Airport Shuttle locations, Jet Parks 1 and 2 are on site at the airport, and it would be a VERY short bus ride. Jet Parks 3 and Manchester Airport Shuttle are co-sited and are about 5 minutes away (in fact they are extremely close to First Response Parking)

First Response did give me a card for discount, I'll send you the details directly.

I do agree with other contributors that Meet and Greet sounds like a good idea!

On our last 3 (And next 2) trips we have used valet park from Terminal 2. Simply fantastic.

As you drive to the car parks at Terminal 2, stay in left lane just before the Short stay entrance, Go through barrier, Check keys in at office, Walk 75 yards to check in.

On your return. Clear customs, go out exit doors, bear right, walk 75 yards to office, pick up keys & your on your way.

You do pay a little more but as others have said no waiting for a bus with tired kids, loads of bags etc. Also watch out for Manchester Airport Specials. The last 3 bookings We have had between 10% & 20% discounts[msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

We think its worth every penny.

    Yes.

If you choose that option for your parking, to get to the check in desks you just cross over the access road and then enter the terminal building. You then need to go up a level either with the escalator or the lifts and that will drop you off at the check-in desks.
