Transport From I-Drive for Non-Drivers

Hi Experts!
I realise we're mostly villa fans on here, but I'm asking this on behalf of my daughter's friend who's having her first trip to Florida next month.

She and her boyfriend are staying at an Econolodge on International Drive. They are worried about getting to the parks as neither of them feel happy about driving, and are definitely not hiring a car. Are there any buses to the parks from I-Drive, and if so, any idea where from?

Likewise she is hoping to get to a mall or two (I bet he's not) Does anyone know if there is public transport to, say, Mall of Millennia?

Any advice, as always, much appreciated.

Thanks Jill. I'd forgotten about Lynx buses, I've sent a link (a Lynx Link!) to the youngsters. The hotel's shuttle buses sound ideal too.

For going to the Malls there is the I-Trolley which goes up and down I-drive and is very inexpensive.

We stayed there last year and i am too frightened to drive and there is a shuttle to every park for free. The only thing is you have to book on early as they fill up and the return times are a bit limiting - for example there was no shuttle late enough to allow us to stay for Wishes. This was quite annoying.

I think its a shame when i hear people saying they dont like to drive in Florida, for us there is so much more to see than just the parks, a trip upto St Augustine for us next month when we are over as I have heard very nice reports on it, also you can choose east or west coast to find a beach and the sea, plus of course many choices for places to eat.

I actually prefer driving in Florida to the UK, maybe thats down to being on holiday and so not in a rush to get anywhere or once out of the main tourest areas the quite clean roads. I would have a think again about driving , you really do see much much more.

We drove up to St Agustine last year via the coast and stopped off at Daytona for awhile. Further up the coast road at Ormond Beach we came across a structure alongside the beach which is a very well preserved wooden watch tower from the second world war. We really enjoyed our trip to St Augustine and also found some lovely ice cream shops

We too enjoy driving in Florida much more than in the UK. It is a pity not to drive as you miss out on so much and are very restricted to what you can do and where you can go. There is so much more than Disney and the Shopping Malls.

I see where you're all coming from, and I appreciate your suggestions regarding driving, but my query is on behalf of a 23 year old couple who are going to I-Drive for one week with the sole objective of going to the parks and doing some shopping.

You don't need to convince me to drive around - I have my 15 seater bus booked for our next trip!
