You can be lucky but I fly through there around 12 times every year and never get used to the incompetence.

Yesterday, they decided that Customs officers would ask EVERY passenger coming through from international flights after collecting their bags how much cash they were carrying and whether they had any food or tobacco in their luggage. I reckon there were around 1,000 passengers in the baggage collection area and just 3 customs exits with 1 officer on each. I'm sure you can imagine how long the queue was just to get land-side.

Although the Immigration process went unusually smoothly, I queued for over an hour AFTER I had collected my bags to get outside and to the train. As far as I could tell, they didn't actually apprehend anybody.
