Night out in Orlando - an update

I met some people recently after their very enjoyable visit to Orlando. Amongst other things, they had a very good night out in Pointe Orlando - a bit of info of interest to me and possibly other families. This group consisted of TWO couples in their late-30s or thereabouts and they had 4 teenagers between them. Apparently, they went to PO on a Saturday night with the adults going to Metropolis and the Kids to Matrix which was literally across the corridor. These two clubs are supposed to be designed for precisely that reason. All of them had a great time and met afterwards in the hall to return to their hotel. They thought that it was very convenient and this info might be useful for other parents with teens who also want to go out.

any idea what age the teenagers were? Our teenagers would love to go some where, club basis but as they are 15 and 16, obviously non alcaholic. Just somewhere we could drop them for a few hours so they can escape the oldies!

Yes. One Bro-sis pair were 18 and 16 respectively. I am less sure about the other two (also brother & sister, but they seem to be of a similar age group.) Orlando as a whole (amd Matrix in particular because of the young crowd) have very strict alcohol rules. The kids were 'escorted' into the club by the parents (since all of them were under 21) who then left them to go to the Metropolis across the way. Your teens will have to go in under your supervision, but you can quietly slip across the corridor later. Not strictly by the book, but everyone - including the doormen - know that this goes on. The Matrix is simply too noisy and trendy for grown-ups. But rest assured, there is very little chance of your kids getting alcohol or other kind of trouble at the Matrix if what my friends told me is true.

And yes, there is an interesting point that I forgot to mention before. Two of the kids were Swedish and the other two Indo-Brits. Apparently, 3 of them - both the Indian siblings and the Swedish girl had to show IDs even though they were with their parents to start with. Interestingly, Sven, the 18 year old Swedish lad was not asked! He does not look older than his age as far as I can tell and so I wonder if this is some form of subconcious discrimination?
