    First time trip

Hi all, this is my first post and can I say what a great site this is for help and information. Anyway down to my question we are going to Orlando in April can't wait (myself, wife and 2 kids) we are staying in Durango Loop, Westridge. I was wondering if anybody can give any info of this area and how long it takes from Orlando MCO this is our first trip to Orlando and if there was one main tip what would it be as there are thousands of tips on this site.
    Cheers

    Hi Mike,

We own a villa at Westbury which is about 5 minutes from Westridge. THe following thread will take you to the Westridge Community details, and you download a map. http://www.onlinefloridavillas.com/Communities/50.aspx
Orlando International is approx 35 minutes, following the signs from the airport for the South Exit, and then signs for Disney. This will take you onto 417 Toll road, and then onto I4. US27 is off I4 junction 55.
Our tip would be to spread the theme parks out over your stay, otherwise you will return to the UK needing a holiday!
Hope this helps have a great time in Florida.

Tanks 4 the advice hayter, westridge looks great. I think it might take a bit longer from the airport what with the wife looking at the map and the kids in the back of the car(the wife will say its my driving lol)[msnscared][msncry]. Do u think a 5 day hoper plus pass will be ok 4 r first time(kids 8+3)
    cheers

Shold take you around 35 minutes from the airport, I beleive 417 to I4 of at Champions gate.
For your first trip I would recommend either a 4 or 5 day hopper plus, 1 day sea world and a 1 or 2 day universal/ioa pass.
Sea Wolrd is the best park to do first, lots of sit down shows. Breaks you in gently....

Dynomike, don't worry about driving from the airport or too any of the central florida attractions. Everything is really easy to find, and I think you would have to try really hard to get lost

The drive from the airport is very very straight forward for all communities on the US27/192.

No doubt the person you rented from will send you full driving directions from the airport to the home, and to my mind you won't really need a map reader (lets the wife of the hook if you do manage to get lost), just follow written directions. As I said though it is really straight forward.

    Enjoy.

    Mike,

One tip, ensure you have some US coins, as the 417 is a toll road, I think it is approx. $ 3.50 from the Airport to I4. Enjoy your holiday[msncool]

Do you have to have coins rather than bills for tolls?

No there are plenty of booths that give change, the maximum note size they will take is $20.I think though that there are some unmanned exits off the 417 (not the I4 junction) though that you must have coins for.
