It depends where you are departing from doesn't it? We'd rather go from Heathrow (15 / 20 mins from our house) - someone can drop us off, saving either car parking or taxi fare, and no worries about the M25! And the clearing through NY was a piece of cake compared to Orlando. We often fly in and out of Miami though and just drive up.
who does london to Tampa? I have been looking for direct flights between the two.
BA, as far as I know, are the only ones who go direct from London Gatwick into Tampa.
We use this flight a lot when we travel direct. Tampa is a lovely airport and very rarely do we have a delay. It then only takes just over an hour to get up the I4 to our home.

I think your right Carla we have not been able to find anyone else except BA doing the direct route to Tampa. It's as much for the airport as the flight that we go via Tampa. Not so crowded and much easier to get through customs etc. Also there is car hire at the airport so no shuttle bus to worry about.

Hi
I have been debating for a while whether to fly direct or in-direct
At the end of the day if you are going for say 3 weeks you will be spending close to £3000, so why try to save a few hundred pounds and ruin your holiday
Of course if you do save £200 then that can go a long way to buying presents etc but do you really want to risk it? For most people including myself it takes a whole year of saving to be able to go to Florida so i don't want to risk missing connecting flights or loosing baggage
The best bet is to fly direct with say Virgin into Orlando international or get a charter into Sanford
We normally fly indirect, just so that we get to see different parts of the US. We've been bounced a couple of times, which has allowed us a day's sight seeing around an area we would normally think of going.
