    Indian restaurants

Some of our group love curry, so I was wondering if there are any Indian resaurants in the area? I can't seem to remember any, only chinese ones and I havent tried any of these either to see if they've got curry.

Avoid the Punjab on the 192 just east of Medieval Times as whilst the food is not bad, it's VERY pricey and the loos are filthy!

There is a good one on the OBT just south of the Florida Mall that has been recommended to us - can't remember the name but it's in our veggie guide to Orlando book .

They have a delivery service. Dinner Buffet nightly 5-10pm $9.99 + tax.

It's in the travel lodge past Orange Lakes. Food is not as good as at home but better than we have found any of the Chinese so far. (Chris was brought up in Hong Kong so he's fussy!)

We liked the one just down from Belz factory but it's not cheap. We intend to try some more next time as there are some more down the 192.(I note to avoid the Punjab!!)

Don't make the mistake of turning up at the Taj Mahal on the 192 expecting a nice meal - it's an indian grocery shop and is very good for buying spices if you fancy cooking your own curries.

(it's just down from Medieval Times eastwards on the other side of the road).

    Hi Paula

It's called Vegetarian Walt Disney World and Greater Orlando by Susan Shumaker, Susan Schumaker, Than Saffel. We bought it from amazon.com - a picture of it is below.

It's been absolutely fantastic for the theme parks as it gives a restaurant by restaurant guide to the best places for veggies and even suggests that you can ask for certain dishes without the chicken and they will substitutre something else veggie instead.

    Hi Paula

How refreshing to find some other veggies on here <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>.

We tend to eat out at Chilies and the Olive Garden a lot. Chilis do all their burgers as bean burgers. We eat in about 30% of the nights too as we both enjoy cooking.

In the Magic Kingdom we've found a great place that does veggie chillie - it's just by the Haunted Manstion (literally as you walk out of the ride) - called something like the Columbia Harbor House.

In MGM the Commissary does a good line in chinese noodles and tabouleh wraps.

Where do you eat - any good recommendations?

We are also a mainly veggie family and tend to eat mainly at the Olive Garden. I want to get the book you recommend as we struggle finding decent veggie food in Florida and I end up cooking more than I would like.

Go for it Ruth - it's literally full of good tips and mentions places you would never come across otherwise. It's going to take us several Florida trips to get through the ones we fancy.
