We are first time visitors to Orlando. We have 4 children aged 16, 15, 14 and 11. Could anyone suggest what passes we should buy and an itinerary that will keep everyone happy? We are staying in Kissimee and have a car.

Hi Terry
Welcome to the forum.
I think your family are going to love Florida but could you give us a clue as to how long you're going for so we can give you a better idea please?

First timers usually want to see and do everything-nothing wrong with that. I think you will definitely want to do all of the major parks Disney's MGM, Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Animal Kingdom-then there's Universal's studio and Island's of Adventure and Seaworld all located in the Orlando area and all requiring a day for each.
You will also want to intersperse some of your theme park days with some shopping days and you probably will want to travel out to Tampa to visit Busch Gardens with an overnight stay at Clearwater beach. If you have a Disney hopper pass you might also want to visit some of the waterparks -these you could combine with shopping days.
If you get all of those done in your two weeks without feeling shattered then you will have done very well-as there will be no doubt bits that you want to do again and by the time you combine it with some dining out and maybe an airboat ride /trip to the cinema etc you will have a good two weeks worth.
Three weeks will let you fit in things like Cirque du Soleil, maybe a trip to Miami or the Keys, Daytona to drive along the beach, Silver Springs at Ocala, the Greek community at Tarpon Springs etc

Hi Terry,
My sons are 16 & 12 they love Universal Studios, Island of Adventure, Busch Gardens, Seaworld & Wet'n'Wild.
You could buy an Orlando 5 park Flexticket which will give you access for 14 days to all the above plus free transportation to Busch Gardens.

Hi Terry!
Going first two weeks of august, you will need to get the hang of the fast pass system pretty quick! You will find it vey busy in the theme parks as the US kids are still off school until around the 14th august-ish. I have to say though, that when it's busy you take much more in, because you get to apprecate the theming etc, as you wait or things. We have been a few times in October/november when it is like a ghost town, and although it's great, you do miss things without realising as you dash from no line ride to no line ride!
You will have a great time no matter what you do, but let us warn you now, you will NOT be able to do everything your first visit, therefore, you'll be a veteran Disney goer in no time in order to quench your desire to go back one more time to ride......!

In that case I would stick to Orlando area and do it well. Also it's going to be very hot and that will slow you down a bit-and you will need a day or two just to acclimatise.
A lot of our summer guests pop back to the villa at mid day for a cooling swim-or take a bit of time out to visit the water parks and then go back later when it's cooler.
I still would have a trip to Busch-it's well worth the trip out to Tampa.

Hi Terry!
We went for the first time in May of 2003 and I still have a customized document saved on my PC of our itinerary if you want to see it. We stayed for 7 days.
