    Question about travel

    Hello there,
I'm visiting orlando in april (13th-23th) and staying in kissimmee 2 miles away from disney. As both of us travelling cannot drive, we are unable to rent a car so i was wondering how easy it is to travel around orlando without a car and how much taxis cost in and around the area. We'll be able to get to to disney fine as our hotel offers a shuttle to the park but does not offer one to universal studios and sea world so how easy will it be for us to get to these places?
    Thanks for any help.

You could try contacting Maingate Transportation 1-407-870-5553

I know they operate a shuttle service to some of the rental communities and if your hotel is somewhere along their main route, they may be prepared to pick you up. I haven't checked this with them, so it may be a long shot. They would be cheaper than a taxi, I think they charge $13 per person round trip to Universal, less for Seaworld (but don't quote me on that - it may have changed since I last checked) - that is what I think it is from one of their regular stops at Windsor Palms or Emerald Island.

There are Lynx buses although whether they run to Universal and Seaworld I'm not sure. Check it out at http://www.golynx.com

There are trollies which run up and down International Drive so you could check out http://www.iridetrolley.com to see if they and the buses make up any useful links for you.

Lynx (public) buses are pretty good, but it does take time to get around on them. Route 42 from the airport serves both Universal and Seaworld. From Kissimee, catch the 55 or 56 (every 15 minutes), change at Osceola Square Mall to route 4, then change at Florida Mall to route 42, which goes down International Drive.

Alternatively, there are buses from Disney Maingate to Universal.

Many hotels also have free shuttles to Universal and Sea World. These will be less interesting than the public buses, but will be quicker.

Lynx Buses are $3 a day, $10 a week and $36 a month. Great value, although Kissimmee is not as well served as Orlando itself.
