What's with the ExtraTERRORstrial Alien encounter?

First I heard that the Alien experience was going to be temporarily closed for refurbishment and replaced by Stitch's Great Escape or whatever for the duration. Now I keep getting rumblings that the Alien ride as we know it may disappear completely. So what exactly is happening? We're going to MK on Saturday, 24th April 2004; what are we going to see in Alien's place?

This is what the website says.......

The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter closed on Sunday, October 12, 2003 for re-development. Replacing the attraction will be Stitch's Great Escape which is expected to open in Fall 2004.

So presumably nothing in its place at the moment.

Have you ever used the "mouseplanet" website? It has the greatest updates on what not only what is scheduled to to be closed a the disney parks but also it tells you what will be closed months into the future. Enormously helpful.

ExtraTerr is now closed as mentioned above.

To see what attractions at any of the Disney Parks will be closed on certain dates, then the Disney website itself will tell you if you click on planning your trip and choose the dates for each particular park you plan to visit.

When I went at xmas, the attraction was totally closed. It was also empty, as we had our free family photo taken in there on the night we went to MVMCP!

No great loss I have to say! I thought it was replaced by XS Tech??

Actually, I agree with Tink that the Exraterrorstrial Encounter, while good while it lasted, is no great loss even if it disappears. It is just that I wanted to give my timid sister-in-law a good scare on this trip and I thought the Alien encounter might be handy at that!

Morning all!

I have to say I loved EAEncounter and had hilarious fun on there with my friends and family. I can still hear my good friend's screams and feel her nails embedded in my arm. In fact, I think I still have the scars!!

It made me laugh so hard (how good a friend, am I??!!??[msnwink])

EAE, you shall be missed.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Tower of Terror!! One of my favourites, in fact. It's just that EAEncounter was great for laughing at other people getting scared whereas the Tower frightens the bejesus out of me! Great fun!!

Me too! No one can believe that I am actually scared of TOT! I have been skydiving, white water rafting, bungy jumping, zorbing, skyscreaming, hot air ballooning, helipcotering etc etc, and I have now reached the point where i point blank refuse to go on TOT every trip! I hve been on it countless times, just not in the last 3 trips! Whats happened to me?!
