IMPORTANT: Forum Upgrade - Monday 13 June 2011

We plan an major upgrade of the forum software on Monday 13th June (next Monday) so may well be off-line for a few hours while we transfer everything over. When we come back, the forums will be on a more modern platform to go forward into the future.

There may be a few small issues immediately we go back live, but wve set aside lots of time next week just in case and intend to get things as they should be as quickly as we can.

Thanks Liesa. It's a HUGE job and it will take a while for it all to settle next week, but we'll be working as quick as we can to get things back to normal and move on from there.

We've also recruited a few Moderators for the forums as it's been a while since Blottie's sad passing [msnsad] now and we need to move forwards with things. That will mean we can open the forums back up to instant new members as we have to hand-approve all new members at the moment, in an attempt to thwart the Chinese spammers peddling their cheap trainers etc etc.

We'll try our best. I think the quickest we've done it when we have been testing is about 4-5 hours. Then there is quite a bit of tweaking to get things exactly as we want, but that bit s part of an on-going process when the forums come back online.

The forums will be going down at 10am this morning for the transfer. Normal service will be resumed as soon as we can after that. It might mean you need to re-set your passwords on the new forums as they don't seem to transfer over well, but it's a painless process and will take seconds. We'll make it obvious what to do anyway.
