I wonder if you would find any more reputable shops in the Florida Mall or one of the other big complexes like Premium Outlets and the like ... just a thought [msnsmile]

Try Bestbuy, Walmart, Ritz or Wolfe Camera, d3100 good entry level SLR.

Check the prices online before you go though, we found we could buy the same model here at virtually the same price. That way you're not using up your duty free allowance, have a UK guarantee and can get used to using the camera before you arrive.
Caroline's right - on a 3100 you might save a few tens of dollars but it will be close. It isn't really worth the time you take out of your holiday to go mooching around the camera shops or try to organise on on-line delivery.
If you buy one in the UK before you go, you don't just get the full UK warranty but you also get plenty of time to get used to it in advance. Good photos come from a good photographer - the camera just captures the image. To become a good photographer the camera should become almost transparent in how you use it, and that just takes a bit of practice in advance so that you capture wonderful photos as they happen.
Oooops, should have said, have a look at Warehouse Express, www.warehouseexpress.com and Jessops online, www.jessops.com for UK prices. If you want to compare them to US prices take a look at Adorama, www.adorama.com and B&H Photography, www.bhphotovideo.com
In original post though you are there now but true about getting used to it. Bought a new camera and, as most do these days, has so many different bits and bobs, I'm still getting used to it now a few months on [msnembarrased] Not an SLR but same applies. Although friend bought camera in States at Walmart which went faulty and took it back to Asda with no problems.
I would say BestBuy or Walmart are as good as anywhere, certainly not the shops on IDrive or 192.
BestBuy now have stores over here and as Sammibabe says, if you buy in Walmart you always have ASDA to go back to.
