    Vegetarian menu option

<span style="font-family:Century Gothic">This will be our 7th time that we have been out to Florida, and our Daughter has just become Vegetarian, however we still love our steaks and burgers! Does anybody know of any good places to eat where there are steaks etc and a vegetarian option on the menu?

There were 15 of us at Mannys one night and my niece, who is not a fan of red meat, asked if she could just have an adult portion of the mac cheese from the kids menu. Bizarrely they refused - not really sure why. Surely every big party will have one or two who don't eat meat?

She blushed crimson when they refused and she ended up with a plate of the salad. They ended up with the 18% automatic tip, not one cent more.

By the way, it's not exactly fine dining but we noticed a lot of veggies using the Golden Corrall. The vegetables there are surprisingly fresh and not what you would expect from a buffet. Carrots, potatoes, broccoli, all delicious. Lots of salad options and pasta too.

Yes we have been to the Golden Corrall on many occasions.

It is great value for money and there is plenty of choice even for our Daughter.

They would have ended up with the 18% tip removed from the bill and a strong word with the Manager if they did that to us. There is no excuse at all the do that kind of thing to someone who has very strong beliefs about their food. They would not do it to someone who was Kosher etc etc and it's no different to doing it to a Vegetarian [msnmad].

We're all Vegetarians and some of our favourites are: Villa De Flora at the Gaylord Palms, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze etc etc.

John, our son's girlfriend is veggie and what disappointed us at Villa de Flora was that the 'vege' risotto is made with chicken stock

You do have to be very careful about that kind of thing. We always ask if it's something like soup or risotto as they often do not use Veggie stock. The Villa de Flora always has a few Chefs around to ask, which is really handy. They will also cook some of the things to order without the meat e.g. a potato dish had bacon in, but the chef happily went off and did us one without the bacon as he mentioned that they only toss the bacon bits in at the end.

You're right John, I think we need to be a little more vocal and ask what they can do next time! We're still new to vege eating in Florida!

Sweet Tomato's for lunch would be very suitable for vegetarians.

Our two daughters are vege's, and they find they eat best at the Golden Corral and Ponderosa buffets just picking from the buffets.

And welcome to the forum Dave.
    Dave.
