You have to remember that all the cases are xrayed, and they will open those with things that look a bit odd.

Ours have been opened a number of times, and each time I pretty much knew in advance that they would be from what I put in.

When we had our cases searched I must admit they did not seem to have moved anything - so they are obviously great at packing. We lock our cases so that they do not pop open (had that at Chicago once where my underwear was on display for everyone to see - VERY embaraassing). The advice about valiables is right though - carry it with you. Then there is no chance of anyone else taking it from you.
