    Sanford to Marco Island

Has anyone driven this route? how long would it take? would anyone do it straight after the flight?

At least 4 hours and that's if you know where you're going and don't get lost.

I definitely wouldn't attempt it straight after the flight but if you have more than 1 driver then it could be done. Much better to overnight somewhere and travel the following day when you're refreshed.

I was thinking 4.5hrs and as we land at 1500hrs with 2 drivers it might be worth a shot.

Was thinking of coming back a couple days early to do universal and did not want to lose a night at the start of the holiday.

I know I could do it the other way round but I did not fancy the trip back on flight day in case we had problems on the road.

It will take about 4.5 hrs. Its a very easy run, biggest chunk is I4 and I75. If you check your route before leaving you should not get lost. I have done this route a few times now albeit in reverse and to Universal. I too would advise staying over around sanford for the night and then leave bright and early next day.

Due to time difference you will probably be awake around 5am - if you breakfast and hit the road by 6 you will be there by late morning even stopping off for coffee & doughnuts! I would not do the drive after the flight it is not worth it.
