The only fee you pay with a Fairfx one is $2 for taking out cash from a machine. There's no bill to come back to as you are spending your own money so can't overspend. Fairfx rate was 1.62 online a day ago but didnt check yesterday. The good thing is that if you are running low youu can top it up with your UK debit card and it loads virtually instantly so you don't need to laod all your spending money on it straight away if you don't want to (either for budgetting or security.)

Don't you also have to pay the US ATM bank a handling fee as well?

my daughter didnt when she took cash out. It may be like at home where some machines charge and some don't possibly. Havent used ours for ash yet and dont intend too unless necessary.
