    7 seater suv

Hi all we are heading over to florida in august and was wondering if there is much boot space in a 7 seater suv. There will be 6 of us 4 adults and 2 kids.

With the rear two seats in position I think you would struggle imho. There were 5 of us so kept the rear seats folded down which gave us plenty of room.
I think at least you should consider the 7 seater minivan.

I know in many of the 7 seater SUV we have hired, they back seats are split in two, although it says seven seater, if you have the room on the first back row to suit three people, then you will only the 2nd back row of seats to accommodate 1 person. Many of the 7 seater SUV's we have hired the 2nd back row will fold down in two parts, 1 seat, and the other 2 seats, so you may be able to fold down either the one seat to fit some luggage in or the 2 seat part.

The luggage space in the large SUV's are not spacious at all with the 2nd back row in the up position, but if you have the ability to put part of the back seat forward it may be enough. Really dont' know on the size of your luggage.

As a more seasoned traveller, we tend to pack exactley what we need and no more, and don't bother with unnecessary items like toiletries etc.

I know Roger has a few videos of how the luggage fits into the different size cars, but I can't remember where they are on he, Maybe he can post the link to them, which may well give you an idea of how the luggage space in on that size car.

Chiss, we go in May and have hired a Luxury 8 seat SUV,
We'd looked at the Sienna (8 seat minivan)
Checked the Toyota US web-Site for luggage space
& How the rear seats split

& then thought na'h lets go in comfort
Our group is 4 adults and 3 kids
    we booked a Suburban.

Look in the car hire pix section in the forum, Gpullan has posted pix of a suburban
That he got as a replacement for a faulty Sienna
The 2 things that swayed it were, his pix &

We could fold the rear seat in the Sienna to get more into the car,
But if we were till struggling for luggage space a taxi to our villa
was $100+ for the 40 mile trip. The Suburban has acres of boot space with the rear row of seats

The ladies in the group plan to travel and then shop shop shop !
By the time you add two potential taxi rides, we just opted for the bigger car

Chiss, I've not checked on the price difference, but consider the 8-seater minivan, as the Toyota Sienna is just a gorgeous van. It has an ENORMOUS boot, it is like a tardis. And it was lovely to drive, I loved it.

Just got back today. We had a Dodge mini van (7 seater) from National. There were five adults and two young children. There is plenty of boot space, we managed three large suitcases/bags easy in the boot and there is space between the middle two seats for additional luggage. There is a video on the car hire webpage of this forum that shows the inside and outside of the vehicle.
Can I just add for all drivers, If you use the 417 (south) from the Airport remember there are tolls to be paid. If you go to the end of the 417 (Celebration) late at night there is an unmanned toll both that only take the exact change 75 cents, or a sunpass. The previous booths cost $1.25.
If you find you have no change Do Not Panic, there are envelopes by the coin drop which you can use to send them a money order. They give you 10 days to send the money. I didn't know the first time I went and emailed them. I got a really nice email back telling me "We understand that non-US citizens will not know the correct procedure for unmanned toll booth. As you will not have an American check account will will take no further action. Have a great vacation".

    Good luck
