We are on the road to our new home for the next two weeks. Took the good advice from the members of this forum and took the South exit out of MCO, turned out to be a nice quiet easy drive, couple of tolls, one unmanned, I estimate that we were at our villa in less than 1hr20mins from the time the plane touched down, which I thought was pretty good. Couple of tips - Bring your own or hire a sat nav from this site, it really does take the pressure off.If you go out the north exit and end up on the I4, don't stress, it's easy to navigate just a bit busier that's all. If you are only planning to do Disney / Universal / Busch I wouldn't bother with the pre pay toll stuff available from the car hire companies, we only spent about $10 on tolls over the two weeks. Driving in general is easy enough, everything is well signposted, have a good read through the driving section on this site, plenty of tips available there.
Arriving at the Villa - We stayed at Lindfields just off the 192, picking a villa is a tough job, they all look great, the most important requirments for us were location to Disney, cost, decent size pool and near to supermarkets and restaurants. We rented through this site. Would we rent through this site again? Absolutely, the booking procedure was easy, the owner Carol although we only had contact via email was very nice and nothing was too much trouble. Didn't really know what to expect but was surprised how quiet Lindfields was ( in a good way), suppose I expected a bustling busy neighbourhood. The villa was exactly as described, key was left for us in a lock box outside, clean & tidy, warm pool, three beds & two bathrooms. Would I rent this villa again? Absolutely, it met all our needs for our stay.
Nipped down the road to McDonalds then back to the villa to unpack, settle in and prepare for our first full day, Disney's Hollywood Studios, here we come.
