If your bags are checked right from Glasgow to Orlando and your not doing customs at London then I think you could buy at Glasgow, but if not then you wouldn't get through London with it. Not 100% sure about this though but I do know you can't go through with Duty Free to an onward bound flight.
Eg My cousin flew from Paris to London and then onward to Glasgow and her and her friends all had perfume etc they had bought in Paris confiscated when they tried to go through customs at London.
If you do get your bags back to check in again at London you can put the Duty free into your cases and that would be ok.
So maybe safest to get it at London on the way out and same on the way way back.
You would need to buy in London, as anything you bought in Glasgow would not be allowed on in London.

The safest way is to buy what you need before you check in your luggage and put all liquids securely in them.
Carry on luggage is limited to 100ml bottles of liquids and gels.
However I believe that some duty free shops / airlines will supply goods in duty heat sealed bags which if kept sealed can be carried through subsequent security checks. But I would check before you buy.

Unless you want something particular, you should forget about it until you get to Florida.
Most Walmarts and some Publix have specially designated liquor stores and the prices knock spots off british airport duty-free prices.
Walmart at Cagan Crossings and Publix at Summer Bay (near the 27 end of the 192) have these shops. I'm sure the Walmart at Medieval Times has one too. They are not in the main store but next door.
They tend to sell spirits in 1.75 litre sizes. This is actually two and a half of our normal bottles. Depanding on what's on special, you could get 1.75 litres of vodka, whisky or gin for anything between $13 and $25. Obviously if you want something special, you will pay more. A few months ago we bought the 1.75l Smirnoff for around $16. Bells whisky a fraction more. Thats two and a half bottles of Smirnoff for around $16. When you break it down it's just over £4 a bottle.
Even better, they are usually in plastic bottles so no problem bringing them back in your hold luggage.
Only thing about the 1.75 bottle is....you are only allowed 1 litre per person - and I don't think the allowance can be pooled!!

No you are not allowed to pool your allowance, although at the airport they tried to convince me that you could. It is 1 litre of spirits per persons 18 and over, but anyone under 21 cannot buy alcohol in the US.
