We travelled on 19th March which is off peak and from landing to actually sitting in the hire car it took us 2 hours and 45 minutes - the longest we have ever waited and it was just the 2 of us [msnoo]

We usually go in August and it's always been around 50 mins to an hour so we couldn't believe our bad luck.

The queue at Immigration was all the way back to the ramp and then the queue at the hire car was really long too

How long does it take - how long is a piece of string? We now go out of season and last October it took about 30 minutes, when we went in Fedruary it took forever, didn't actually time it, but it was well over an hour just to get through immigration. There were other planes landing at the same time which they must have known about but had not put any extra staff on for.

No idea where you are staying, but in July, or at Easter we can be at our house in 1hr 40mins. Thats landing at 2:40pm, customs, putting bags on, catching train to main terminal, taking bags off, collecting rental car, and driving on 417 on to Sunset Lakes.
The longest was 2 hours start to finish.

Orlando is much better than Miami! We have always been lucky and now that there are no green forms to be checked they do seem to be getting better and getting the queues down quickly. I think a lot depends on how many flights are coming in - they never seem to put extra desks on when two or three flights arrive at the same time.

We have always got through immigration, baggage collection and car hire within about 90 minutes. Faster still when we come over with no hold luggage - can do it much quicker!

Car hire can be a royal pain too - they are worse than immigration !

I am mad - just mad.

We are often through immigration before our bags arrive, shortest time from landing (not immigration)to leaving the airport is 55 mins and longest about 1 hour 40 mins, usually somewhere in between and we nearly always travel outside school holidays.

We've started flying from Glasgow to Dublin with Aer Lingus, direct to MCO and you go through US immigration at Dublin - takes all the stress out of arriving in Orlando, so when we get off the plane we collect the luggage and, as we also have Dollar Express, we don't even wait in the line for the car - straight accross thwe road to the booth and collect the car there It all makes for a great start to our holiday.
