I'm sure it's not possible but thought i'd get confirmation.
A UK DAB radio will not work in USA right??
We have DAB, they have HD and satellite radio.
Thanks

You are correct, DAB does not work and their satellite radio requires a subscription. The last couple of cars I have rented had satellite radio - it's nice to get BBC world service.
US TV is pretty poor IMO, much of their FM/AM radio is worse!! The exception being some of the Public Service Broadcasting
Don't know much about the radio, but agree the TV is terrible. So many channels and nothing worth watching. Even if there is a decent film it takes so long as the adverts are every few minutes.

I don't know any of my friends and family who live in the US who don't record films on a Digital recorder and 'fast forward' when the adverts are on - as we do in UK.
Surely the advertisers must be aware of this practice????

The bit that winds me up is the way they turn the volume up during the adverts... one minute your watching something peaceful and relaxed, the next someone is shouting out you to buy a new car or persuade your doctor to prescribe a certain drug for you.
Although in the later they seem to turn the volume back down for the bit when they read through the side effects
Final rant (although I see this is happening more in the UK now as well) I hate the way they pad out the programmes with "coming next" sections that covers half of what you are going to see in the next short gap between someone shouting at you to buy a car or get new drugs, then they play this bit before telling you what you are going to see in the next all to brief segment before you are encouraged (through being shouted at) to by some food that will make you fat and spotty.
Ooh, i feel better now[msnwink]

Always leaving me feeling that I'd prefer to stick with whatever condition they're supposed to treat.
