But just out of interest, why does it need to be A4? I've regularly sent documents betwen UK, Germany and USA, and I never bother about the size. I've never had anyone complain.

I had this once before and legal documents must A4. I think it has to do with binding but could be wrong.

OK. As I said, I've never had anyone on either side of the Atlantic ask for a specific size of paper, but I guess some companies are more picky than others![]()

I am sure you are all correct that it would not have been crucial not to have used A4. It was a medico-legal report, however, which will go in a file with other reports. The report is also for an agency which I am new to woking for so I wanted to make a good impression (I should also have sent the report off before I left for the US). All in all I am glad I got the A4 option sorted. William
