Cash passport

Just picked up leaflet on cash passports by travelex. The idea is you can load your card with money and use it like a credit card but without charges, they claim you can use it at any visa atm's, hotels, shops, restaurants, ect ect as long as it takes visa electron and you can reload the card as many times as you like, saves carrying loads of cash around. Just wondered if anyone had any comments or have used one

Not sure what the coverge s not but historically visa electron has had very poor coverage in the USA.

Fairfx and many others offer ones which are more widely accepted . Fairfx is Mastercard and there is at leat one Visa backed one which are accepted just about everywhere. My daughter has one and we are thinking of getting one for our own use as well.
