Our trip part six - a day off?

    Friday 19th
Today is a designated day off. We are going to Treaure Island beach so I can get my 'fix' of a day laying on a beach doing nothing! After the beach we are going to visit friends at St Petes for dinner. Sounds blissful and I can't wait [msnsmile2] But I will have to for a few hours [msnsad] I just can't trust these boys it seems. They decide they have a few little things to do before we leave [msnsad] Alan wants to go to Lowes to get a few things before the sliding door replacement glider strip arrives and geoff wants to wait for the UPS delivery of said strip. I remind him that generally the UPS truck waits around the corner till folk have gone out before making a delivery 'true' he says, but we'll give them till noon. Alan get back from Lowes with his bag of bits, then annouces he is popping to Books A Million to get a new book to read on the beach - there won't be time to read at this rate, me thinks! [msnsad]
Finally we set off and arrive at Treasure Island around 2pm. It quite busy as it is the first day of the sand sculpture festival. We decide as it's only started today there won't be masses to look at so we settle on a spot and take a dip [msnsmile] The sea is chilly but no where near as cold as the English sea in July!!! We stay for a couple of hours, sunbathing and dipping then head off to see our friends. We have a stroll along St Petes beach with them, have a lovely supper that I didn't have to cook, a long chat and we leave a little before 10pm. I feel totally relaxed and ready to start again at the villa the next day!

    Saturday 20th
Well, the slider part had arrived sometime the day before - we had found it in the porch on our return from the Gulf coast. The boys set about installing it. They need to grind down the existing track a bit first and our MC turns up at just the right moment! Luckily he has a grinder in his truck we can borrow [msnsmile2] We take a break for a cup of coffee with him and then they get to work. I get on with the painting. It seems like no time at all and the doors are back in place - gliding like new [clap][clap][clap]
Next - and you won't believe this - they are debating irrigation again! Do we have a leak??? I don't care anymore!! Lol!! They are going to do a test on Monday [msnsad]
The boys get on with some of their other jobs like putting up the new ceiling fan in the lounge. It looks impressive and we are all delighted with it [msnsmile2] And yes, we all stand under it feeling the breeze, oohhing and ahhing at how wonderful it is - how sad are we!!!!

Oh Frances, your trip reports are just spot on! The joys of being a villa owner, eh? Only glad that I'm not alone out there- when I read your reports - it just sounded ...like me!!
